University Admissions Tests Preparation Days: Saturday 15th and Saturday 29th September 2018

Independent Thinkers Education, in partnership with St Mary’s School, Cambridge, is holding one-day test preparation courses – on Saturday September 15th and Saturday September 29th – to prepare students for demanding admissions assessments for the UK’s most competitive universities and courses. All courses take place at St Mary’s School, Bateman Street, Cambridge, CB2 1LY.

We are running preparation courses for the following admissions assessments/ courses: (i) the BMAT (Medicine); (ii) the LNAT (Law) and Advanced Comprehension and Essay Writing for Cambridge Admissions Assessments; (iii) Engineering and the Physical Sciences; (iv) the ELAT (English); (v) the TSA (PPE, E & M, Psychology, etc.); (vi) the Cambridge Economics Admissions Assessment; and (vii) Biological Natural Sciences (Cambridge).

The focus of each workshop is on acquiring and practising core academic and intellectual skills, such as critical thinking, essay writing and/or advanced scientific and mathematical thinking and analysis. The workshops are designed to be stimulating, enjoyable and educational in themselves, and to encourage students to think about their prospective university courses in ways which take them beyond Sixth Form curricula, as well as preparing participants for competitive university admissions tests.

Students will sit a full mock test at the end of the day’s course and receive their results, marked test papers and written feedback from the course tutor within a week of sitting the mock. The mock papers are written in-house by specialist tutors; they will be returned to students via their schools.

I definitely recommend the course to students who are considering applying for Medicine, as it not only provides you with helpful tips from doctors and Oxbridge graduates on tackling each section of the BMAT, but also provides guidance on how to prepare for the admissions test from the beginning of the school year.
